Why it might be not such a great idea to move abroad

We are hearing it all the time:

The US is done, there are no jobs, try to move to Latin America, overseas, etc.

There is one problem with this concept, especially for young people:

1. The next crisis will be worldwide and probably set in rather simultaneously (some places will be less affected, that's for sure).

2. Nobody will accept you unless you bring some money or income to the table and/or do not take away your guest countries' jobs.

To make it clear: DO NOT MOVE unless you have a fixed job opportunity lined up, a business which can be managed from pretty much everywhere (for instance depending on the internet)  or fixed/passive income from other sources which do not need your constant presence.

Another thing you should not underestimate:

They tend to be different in other parts of the world. For good reasons. However, we are not used to them, they are not used to us. Problems will present, misunderstandings might happen, (expensive) mistakes might be produced.

Don't forget the Visa thing as well. Almost all countries I know outside of the western world enforce their immigration laws in a rather strict way.

By the way, I live in central Mexico. I believe I know a thing or two about living in a foreign country. And different people's characters which can produce some really expensive mistakes.

My tip: Before moving to another country completely, try to live there for at least 3 months on a budget like the average local.

If you still like it, move.

If not, you know where you do not belong.

Many people reach that conclusion far too late. Sometimes when it's too late.
